Application:
Tetrasodium pyrophosphate decahydrate tech grade is mainly used as a metal detergent agent and water softener in boiler water treatment, bleach in paper-making, electroplating (electrical coating), printing & dyeing, petroleum drilling and drilling mud viscosity regulating agents, chemical industry, etc.
Sodium pyrophosphate decahydrate is also used as a buffering agent, an emulsifier, a thickening agent, a food additive, and a dispersing agent.
It acts as a tartar control agent in toothpaste and dental floss and removes calcium and magnesium from saliva, thereby avoiding its deposition on teeth.
It is utilized in detergents to prevent deposition on cloth.
It is useful in preparing an EDTA-sodium pyrophosphate extraction buffer for microcystin analysis of soil samples.
In antimicrobial studies, it is used as a chelating agent.
