Application:
In Food processing:
Trisodium phosphate (TSP) can be an additive in certain food processing applications. Its main application in food processing includes:
- pH adjustment: TSP is used as a pH regulator or buffer in food processing. It helps control and adjust food products’ acidity or alkalinity levels to maintain the desired pH.
- Emulsification and food texture improvement: TSP can act as an emulsifier in certain food products, helping to stabilize and homogenize oil-water mixtures. It can improve the texture, mouthfeel, and quality of products such as processed cheese, sauces, and dressings.
- Meat and poultry processing: TSP may be used in meat and poultry processing to enhance the water retention capacity of meat products. It helps to improve juiciness, tenderness, and succulence, particularly in processed meats like hams, sausages, and meat-based products.
- Food cleaning and surface treatment: TSP can be used in food production facilities to clean and sanitize surfaces and equipment. It is effective in removing grease, residues, and stains that may be present on food processing equipment, floors, or walls.
In Industry Application:
TSP can be used in various industrial processes. It can act as a buffering agent, pH adjuster, and cleaning agent in applications such as metal surface treatment, boiler cleaning, textile detergency, cleaning detergent formulation, and paint and surface preparation.
